The might reds take a great lead in to their return leg home tie, after beating German newcomers Hoffenheim in the first leg of the Champions League qualification tie.
With an excellent free kick before half time, from young home grown talent, Trent Alexander-Arnold joined by a well taken counter attacking goal, scored by second half substitute James Milner the Reds looked really comfortable for the majority of the away match and the only down side was a late goal by Hoffenheim to keep next weeks return leg at Anfield still interesting.
The Reds seemed to take control of the game ater an early scare, when a penalty was given to Hoffenheim early on but after Mignolet saved the penalty Liverpool created more of the chances. The last five minutes were much more pressured after Hoffenhein got a goal back but Liverpool managed to hold on to the exceptional away victory, putting them clearly in the driving seat for the tie.
